TOPIC: Sunak vs Truss
#223787
Sunak vs Truss 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Sunak seems a decent enough person; Truss is an absolute disaster. I suppose now the Truss/Field affair will be revised and exposed. Tweetie Pie (she does look like I Tort I Taw A Puddy Cat) is very nearly brain dead. If she does become PM I reckon she'll be even worse than May or Johnson. And God save us from charmless Starmer. Let's hope Labour finds a new leader though I dread Andy Burnham who is Blair Mark Two - all charisma; no ability.

“all charisma; no ability” — qualities that can get an artist(e) very far in the music biz!

Sunak would have us live under WEF terms.

I don't think it matters -in any significant terms - which of the two wins; although yes Truss doesn't seem bright enough for the role. There is nothing politically between them, and the Tories will lose (have lost) the "red wall" that voted for Johnson. I predict new levels of apathy in the electorate...

I think you're right WYOT except Sunak seems half way decent and might just possibly be an adequate PM. For a start he'll stop sending sex offenders to gas chambers - oops, immigrants to Rwanda. It's hard to keep up.

She will probably put cheesy chips on the map.

Liz seems cluesless and seem clueless about the immigration, cost of living and seems to be another globalist. It's one big club and we are not in it.

Stop? I don't think anybody actually went to Rwanda, although I read somewhere that we paid for it anyway. It was just a lie.

Yes but they thought it and said it and the majority agreed. We can't just rely on their ignorance (of laws) or organisational incompetence to avoid this; or gas Chambers. At some point a gifted or even genius politician may come along, as happened in the 1930s in Germany....

And ghastly Truss is dead keen on Rwanda and other places - to get the Tory racist vote.

It was no more than smoke and mirrors and way to look the government were doing something productive. The money we gave to Rwanda was no more than a foreign aid token.

No one believed the plan would work due to lawyers and ERCH. The media have stopped talking about it.

Should Boris have gone? I think he was a bad PM though better than May but felt it was Media Hype that killed him (all that stupid Partygate rubbish). Trouble was - and is - is there anybody better? I don't think so and at least he's amusing. He will come back (like his hero Churchill) when punters start thinking - which is worse? Someone who doers 35 MPH in a 30 MPH zone or someone who is useless in matters like Covid, Ukraine, Heatwaves and the plague of false allegations?
I suspect Boris was right in his instincts on Covid (it was NOT a killer plague but was a media hype). And got pushed into stupid lockdowns and Nightingales by the same advisors who got him ditched.

What's really disgraceful is how Cummings, a bitter ex-spad, has been indulged in his nasty acts of rank hypocrisy by a media that is happy to let it pass because it serves their purpose. There will come a Cummings for other parties and other governments, and they won't have a coherent means to complain. It's a scandal that even now he has such an impact.
