the venerable govt broadcaster ABC suffers at time like the BBC of cheap sensationalism.

I have no idea how this odd case will end but there is no "accuser" as stated..(the poor chap died) as he is on record as telling his mother no abuse happened.

I wonder if the church will just cave in?

Oh this is a huge part of the False Allegations Industry Hedda - ignored by media (as the ongoing battles are great stories). If convicted, the "victims" of the often innocent are never satisfied by simple state compensation (one of mine in 2001 boasted in the Mirror of having made £17,000 from the CICA - and he was one for which I was acquitted) but go on to be found by bent lawyers - ambulance chasers - who persuade them to go for more. Many innocent incarcerated see their wives have to sell their homes. But like the Pell case - no smoke without fire; Catholic church rolling in money - they try it on, even when both "perpetrator" and "victim" are dead.
