TOPIC: Boris and his kettle
#225439

Boris and his kettle 2 Years, 10 Months ago
He told us to get a new twenty quid "fast boil" kettle to save money.

It takes the same amount of electricity units to get water to the boil. It can use a quick burst of high power, or a low power for longer, but it costs the same.

Obviously the longer it is heating, the greater potential for heat to escape, but the difference is minimal.
He would should have advised us to get better insulated kettles, whatever the speed. Or better still, kept his gob shut.

Like any MP and PM they have no idea how the normal live and work. I hate it when they visit factories, pubs or building sites. They still look out off touch and awkward.
