If King Charles really wants to "slim down" the Royal Family (quite right, in my opinion) he needs his brother to take on several high profile Royal duties.
And I believe, as Monarch, he needs to take a stand against Rule By Media by showing that a Falsely Accused Victim should not be treated as a Perpetrator.
I hate to say it but unless he does this, the haters and enemies ("them" as our beloved Queen once called them) will turn on him with his friendship with other victims of crime such as Jimmy Savile.
He needs to take a moral stand and a lead on the issue.
Rumour, scandal and media promoted gossip must NOT be allowed to be considered fact.

sometimes I wish..the Royals would vanish in a puff of smoke which would put numerous gutter tabloids (no names but Daily Mail comes to mind ) out of business.

Paying off that accuser, now accused of sexual assault, was a mistake but the media just wouldn't give up like a dog with a bone.
