He should have been treated as innocent if and until found guilty - or admitted guilt himself. (Much as I can't warm to the guy and am pretty sure I would dislike him if I met him...).
We know why the media do it, we know people on the whole can't think now. Everything is black and white. Allegation is enough.
BUT: The Royal family has played along entirely. There was no way back for him and his reputation was tarnished for good as soon as they (obvs including our late Queen) stripped him of Royal duties.
The media was always going to do its amoral thing; but it is immoral and loathsome for a family to turn its back on their own just for PR.
They should have made a stand, it would have done a world of good to challenge this ruination by accusation culture that is destroying lives.
If the Royal Family can't make a stand, what hope is there?
