Our wonderful new Chancellor seems to have discovered a new word - DISTRACTION. We must not have any distractions. In which case, avoid anything media might consider a great story. Like PM Does A U Turn!
So what would I do? Approach the giant energy companies and ask them to GIVE 100 Billion to the UK citizens. No "windfall" tax. A gift in order to help users. In return - a massive deduction in taxes for those companies over a period of, say, 5 years - year by year (amounting to saving those companies 100 billion). Yes we'd have to find monies to fill that shortage but it would be great PR for the companies, would look terrific to the voters, cost tax payers nothing (now), save all that extra expense over the winter.

What on earth is going on? Do we have a Government as such anymore? What even is this "story" acting out in public through MPs? They may not raise benefits, may cut, could increase, lots of talks going on, rebels growing but many may support.
