Conor Burns sacked as Minister 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Because allegations have been made about his behaviour.
Our fine new PM acts immediately; no stupid investigation.
So let's see how she behaves when an allegation is made about HER behaviour.

I have known Conor on and off since University. Because of this, all I will say is I await the final outcome with interest.

But yes how dare Truss react like this at this stage. Playing fast and loose with a hard working man's career, to gain cheap political points.

As in so many cases I don't care whether he's guilty or innocent. Even murder, terrorism, rapes... Arrest? Fair enough, as long as there is enough evidence a crime has been committed. Questioning? Fair enough - as long as all suspects are now told that NO COMMENT will NOT be used in a negative way at trial as it is usually impossible to remember all details, especially in historical accusations, until after research. Investigation - must be balanced; BOTH sides examined.

The problem comes when "a good story" trumps everything and balance, especially in reporting, is abandoned.

And police behaviour during arrest and questioning MUST be improved. Whether Guilty, Innocent or somewhere in between, human beings should be treated with decency and NOT provoked into committing suicide, as happens so often.

I have read he has treated the residents in Bournemouth like dirt. I haven't had a problem there, but something needs to be done with the homeless. I haven't encountered any hookers there either.

Well I agree that is no way to treat the people of Bournemouth...

Well unless something else comes out Conor's career has been ruined because he had his hand on a man's (adult so far as we know and consenting) in a bar. In other words, sacked for flirting.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-63187793

He had worked all his adult life on politics; indeed was obsessed by it at University (he and a couple of others were - to be honest- comically weird about it - but it was his life and he was genuine).

Now Liz has decided she can use our confused current morality to try and raise her public stock.

I actually think this one will back fire on her, as everything she touches does. But a man's career has undoubtedly been ruined in the meantime. How many more before society reevaluate this prissy hysteria?
