Maxine 2 Years, 8 Months ago
https://www.channel5.com/show/maxine

Really enjoying this drama about Maxine Carr who was the girlfriend of Iain Huntley. I've always had a lot of sympathy for Maxine. Her only crime was misguided loyalty towards the terrible Iain Huntley. She lied to protect someone who she thought was innocent. She was portrayed in the press as an evil women, a Myra Hyndley figure. It made a good story, but destroyed her life. She had to get a new identity, move to a different town, and live a life in fear of her identity being revealed. What a terrible society we live in.

My partner is following this series. Maxine Carr, is like thousands of other men and women who will do protect their lovers. They are blinded by love, in denial or just don't want to be single.

She is very a pathetic woman. Reminds me of those, eccentric and useless women who get besotted with serial killers in America.

You're all missing the point. She didn't know that he was guilty. She was miles away in Grimsby at the time, and she was in a coercive relationship, with an obsessively jealous and violent man. She had absolutely nothing to do with the death of Holly and Jessica and was treated like "SHE" was the Killer. Her crime was misguided loyalty to someone that she thought was innocent. Whether she lied or not made no difference to whether Holly or Jessica died on that night.

Robbie, she bleached the entire house from top to bottom.
Why do you think she did that?

Exactly, anyone with sense would call the police. Her persona on TV does not look like a worried person.

I would bet my last 1 pound that Robbie is not a parent and a simp.

He is just someone with a different opinion, and doesn't deserve to be insulted for it. None of us can read her mind, so it is all speculation anyway.

Quite right too and a bit rich considering a lot o people on here automatically declare every sex allegation as a false allegation, regardless of knowing the facts.

The most baffling part of the story is the idea the entire planets population is forbidden from revealing her new identity forever.

Since when did ONE U.K court dictate to the whole world?

Of course, her identity can't be revealed. She will be ripped to shreds by the morons with a pitchfork mentality. The same idiots that think Jimmy Saville's bones should be dug up and thrashed, for whatever reason.

You miss my point.

I am saying....HOW can a judge in the u.k pass a law that covers everyone on earth?

Someone in Iran or Mongolia decides to post all her new details online.....
What can UK cops do?

A judge trying to ban the WORLD from don't something is just absurd. No matter what it is.

But a world ban doesn't actually exist, does it? I thought it meant stopping a British journalist posting her whereabouts in the Mongolian times so the information would trickle back here, for instance?

But come to think of it, what would prevent someone from encouraging the Mongolian journalist to release information on Carr, Venables or Thompson?

Mr Biden has misunderstood the law and I am happy to clarify the situation.

A judge in England is of course unable to make an order criminalising someone who lives outside of England & Wales and did not in this case attempt to do so.

The judge imposed a rare lifetime annonymity order re Carr (see Section 12 Contempt of Court Act 1981 for more details).

This criminalised publication in England and Wales of her details. "Publication" is now very broad in the social media age and given where servers are hosted etc "England and Wales" can get complicated.

Nevertheless, the question of how a judge can try and make a "world order"? is the product of Mr Biden's imagination, not the statute books or common law.

Because no judge has, in fact, attempted to do so.

Wyot, QC.

In a world where we can be forced to walk a metre apart and in a one way system. Told we can only order a pint if we order a meal and to only come outside to " clap for the NHS" then it doesn't really seem so strange that a judge in the UK can say
"I hearby order that anyone on this planet no matter where ..will be prosecuted if they ever post online the new identity of this here criminal"

Carr is not the only one.

But this is solely a UK phenomenon.
You never hear of even any American judges trying to pass such laws....even though U.S are the self proclaimed rulers of the earth.
