No not just Liz Truss. The new PM should be Boris, if the Tories have any sense. Yes he was a terrible PM (Brexit; Northern Ireland; the Queen) but not as bad as opposition made out and media (a good story) loved. He's a winner. All the rest are losers. If he'd followed his instincts, he'd have dealt with Covid correctly. Not as stupid "experts" advised. We could do worse and I cannot see anyone with whom we could do better - certainly not the opposition. Corbyn and McDonnell with a decent LibDem (Clegg or Cable) in coalition would have been my choice, not this rabble of "We must have a General Election" stupids - whenever in mid term hasn't stupid opposition warbled that?

Bring Back Boris (I created that slogan; nice and simple like Make Britain Great Again or Take Back Control). Watch the markets rebound if they choose him (and if he agrees to stand - the least likely situation; why would he want it after the way he was treated, like Thatcher ?). He'll do the obvious (keep Hunt as Chancellor - dump the ghastliness like Suetus). The only HUGE problem is Jacob (back the winner) Rees Mogg. Send him to Siberia for God's sake. But knowing Boris he'll give him an un important cabinet job (they all are - the absurd Home Secretary job that nobody wants would go to the snake Sunak - that'll show him).

My thoughts? I know nothing and as such have no worth as a chooser.
But from observation on TV I would say Penny Mordaunt would be the best PM. She's presented herself very well.
I think Boris is the sensible choice for the Tories. But no good as PM.
I'd like whoever is chosen to return to the EU in most situations (i.e. Northern Ireland; the law).
I'd like such stupid ideas as Rwanda dropped.
I'd like them to persuade the bosses on the main ENERGY companies to donate billions to the country.
Better, surely, than a forced "windfall tax".
Especially if guaranteed huge tax deductions in future years from 2025 on, until equivalent monies level reached.

So... Boris will win; Sunak will retire gracefully and there will be a Coronation. Boris will make Sunak Home Secretary (who cares?) - keep Hunt as Chancellor (his two main rivals in Cabinet); will probably lose his HOC committee battle; apologise for "accidentally and unintentionally" lying to Parliament; will NOT resign again but will insist there are far more important matters to deal with.

He will then get the big Energy companies to DONATE 100 Billion to the country to help save the pound. No "windfall tax" (anti Conservative). The country will cheer. He will promise the Energy Bosses that future tax exemptions will earn them back that "donation" in 3-4 years. If they are NOT willing to donate, free of charge, he WILL have a windfall tax (for slightly more than the donation).

So will it be Boris for years?

No; his enemies will do what I thought they would do years ago; they will find someone who claims he raped them years ago; he'll be arrested and questioned; dozens more will come out of the woodwork. They got Weinstein and Maxwell; they failed to get Andrew and Spacey; the False Allegations Industry is the fastest growing crime of the century (it will destroy Trump too).
