I have attended metal gigs where people behaved themselves. If you're knocked over in a mosh pit you are helped up, if you want to leave a mosh pit you just say. I always dreaded the daft beach ball guy at gigs or the barmy or toothless coquettes, or the drunk fans who would yell out during songs, now people have to deal with idiotic loonies fighting for the sake of it, even after the gig.

Metal and "metal heads" are in my experience actually a peaceful & often intelligent crowd. It is escapism.

I have never had an issue with those gigs. My sister went to Slayer gigs with her boyfriend. They loved it and they never had trouble and he went in a mosh pit and left without any injuries.
