Please do not forget the hundreds - or thousands - who will spend this Christmas in prison for crimes that never took place.
Whether accidental, like many in the UK, inspired by media exaggeration and assisted by well intentioned police and lawyers, or deliberate, as in some UK cases and as in countries like Iran with specific, often religious based, laws.
I bet the quantity is actually millions globally. Every one has a broken heart and most come with broken hearts belonging to families, friends and lovers.

I had a very good late highly successful (Jewish) promoter pal who spent every Christmas day serving lunch at a refuge for ex-cons etc. Said he loved doing it.

I had a friend who announced he was feeding the homeless for a couple of Christmas running and not indulging in material excess with his wife and 3 children. Turns out he was with his pregnant mistress who was also none the wiser about his first family...

I did some voluntary work in a soup kitchen during lockdown for homeless many of them were veteran's. I thought it was fun.


I hate the term "Festive" it's Christmas even though I'm an atheist. It's still Christmas. Even the Sikhs and Hindus still say Merry Christmas to me and I say it back. Even though they don't celebrate it. They still indulge and have a few days off work.

Good grief. Rather inventive though.

I might add that my advice to people wishing to feed the homeless at Christmas, is to stay home if you cant be arsed the rest of the year.

I have never understood why people have illicit affairs. When they are caught out they normally end up alone.
