TOPIC: World Cup Final

World Cup Final 2 Years, 6 Months ago
WORLD CUP FINAL - I’ve said it before - Morocco won the TEAM prize. Other individual players did better; some goals were fantastic by others but Morocco only lost because of dozens of injuries (NOT by playing badly) but because they don’t yet have one or two spectacular strikers (Messi; Mbappe). I think their performance should not just be praised as an African success but as a lesson to be learned by bigger countries. Spend far less money on stars but build a team of players like De Bruyne (my favourite player in the world). Likewise I shall be supporting France today because of Greizmann who I think has been the player of the tournament (along with Bounou).

At present it's like Man City playing the local pub team. Argentina way ahead.

It's really hardly worth watching second half.

This is set to be the most-watched sporting event globally in history, it's a pity they don't have a better match to watch. France obviously out of sorts after that virus in their camp.

Anyone else noticed how much Didier Deschamps looks like a certain Mr. Saville, unfortunately for him.

BBC News - World Cup 2022: Was Argentina's win over France the best ever final?

Unbelievable, everyone says. But wait for 2026; North America; 64 teams; 3 countries.

Qatar, the world seems to think, has reaped benefits from its exposure to the world at large. Assisted by other Arab countries, which performed above expectations on the pitch - Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

2026 World Cup may not even happen. They could be another plandemic in 2025.

Yes, very possible. But North America is already preparing with FIFA; unlike other World Cup Finals, the entire infrastructure is in situ. No stadiums have to be built, for example.

The USA is particularly keen to include China in the tournament - after seeing how the Arab world became totally focused on Qatar.

Football is very popular in China - with most European leagues - including the EPL - being shown live on Chinese screens. Over 70,000 pitches have been developed and there's 25,000 soccer schools.

However the Chinese national team only appeared at one World Cup Finals - twenty years ago. Slow progress compared to other Asian nations - such as Japan and South Korea.

Undoubtedly, the USA's desire to host China (on North American soil) has political dimensions - but this sport is a global and unique phenomenon, which can (and has) bring nations closer.
