TOPIC: £40 billion

£40 billion 2 Years, 6 Months ago
Brexit is costing us £40 billion yearly in lost tax revenue.

www.itv.com/news/2022-12-20/brexit-costs...-in-lost-tax-revenue

A thought for the next Brexit voter suffering a heart attack stuck outside A&E in a taxi because the Government (allegedly) can't afford to give front line medical staff a cost of living pay rise, while his Polish taxi driver tries to administer effective CPR....

But at least Brexit sorted out the immigration problem eh...

You cant blame Brexit voters for the immigration problem (if indeed there is one?) instead of the government.

I know Honey; just being ironic about The Brexit mindset and the nonsense millions fall for.

On Question Time of 15 December an audience member asked what benefits of Brexit he should console himself with when waiting for hours at passport control in Spain and another, a wine importer who said he'd been a lifelong Tory voter, said that his business had been turned upside down by all the new red tape, paperwork and delays. Rees-Mogg was on the panel and his answer to the first guy was that he should visit Portugal rather than Spain and to the second that the import of Australian and New Zealand wine had been made easier, which the wine merchant said wasn't true.

The Tories are only following orders from leaders.

Brexit didn't help. Apart from making us more autonomous.

However, the inherent weaknesses were already there - undressed.

Our £2,500 billion National Debt is therefore a heavy weight to carry.

Consider that - in Blair's time - it was about 20% of that. With Budget Surpluses!

I always find it difficult with Rees-Mogg to decide whether he is an expensively educated idiot or a clever uber-cynic amusing himself...

This Remoaner, Bonzo, is nothing but balanced in attributing equal stupidity to Brexiteers and Lockdown enthusiasts respectively.

Should you be short of reading material over the festive season, there is a rich archive of my "lockdown posts" on this site available to you for free.

No it didn't Barney. You are confusing sovereignty with autonomy; de jure with de facto sovereignty.
