Oh dear this is a real problem 17 Years, 7 Months ago
As you know, every year I read all 6 Booker Prize finalists.
They don't give us much time - about 6 weeks from the announcement of the 6 titles - but every year there are a couple that I just don't like (including the winnder from a couple of years ago - The Sea; the runner up, Never Let Me Go, was far, far better) so I can either skip read or give up.
But this year all 3 of the first ones I've read, On Chesil Beach, Mister Pip and now The Reluctant Fundamentalist - are brilliant!
Not only can I not hurry them, I don't want to hurry them.
I'm now about three quarters through Mohsin Hamid's Fundamentalist and I'm adoring it.
So far, each of these three would be a worthy winner. And I still have 3 to read and only 18 days left!
