BCP has to be one of the councils in the South West.

Bournemouth has so much potential that is going to waste instead of improving of the town they waste on silly vanity projects. You can't polish a turd, Boscombe has a lovely beach but there's nothing for the down and outs and jobs are scarce there.

I had chat with a businessman earlier from the area, he mentioned the problems started in the late 1980's when a dodgy landlord bought up houses and converted them to DSS bedsits with help from the council.

He became very rich however they were just drugs dens and many of his tenants died from overdoses. There's now second and third generation of addicts in the town it's a cycle.

I heard the the Poole bus station is pretty much a no-go area but neither council and bus company want to hire security to patrol the area, people have said it's the convenient shops and takeaway joints they makes the undesirables to loiter.

The businessman was interested in setting up a nightclub in Bournemouth or Poole with me has I have done it and the experience.

I had to decline it's a lot of work, money, we couldn't agree on ideas and headache. Also where Bournemouth has a huge student demographic I wouldn't have a clue on trends and new music. I did suggest a retro discotheque club so people can have some nostalgia and young people could experience the 1980's. He said no one would bother.

I did also suggest a country western honky-tonk bar with pinball machines, American 8 and 9 pool tables and a rodeo bull, stage with chicken wire where live music is.

He laughed and said isn't there enough fights in the clubs at night.

My answer was if two blokes want to fight over a loose woman who is skimpy clad then let them.

JK's Solo restaurant idea is good because no-one likes each other in London.

At least their local journalists have a sense of humour.

Great. If all the tables were solo you could have a proper table and not be shoved into the corner by the toilet.

If any restaurateur gives me that table, I just refuse point blank and leave. Funny how they change their mind some times.

It's always worth it to dress sharp, some times you can be given a very nice table even in places like Nandos. Whilst people in causal clothing get offered the bad tables.

Can any one tell me why Wagamama is popular. You sit at tables that are like the school canteen and the food is just Pot Noodles on a plate.

Wagamama serves fantastic Asian-based food
centered on Japanese cuisine - with totally different and unique tastes.

There are few comparables in the UK, and all food is freshly cooked in bright restaurants. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

Rare spices are included in their meals, and the chicken dishes are delicious. As is the extensive range of juices!.

I have no idea. I haven't been in any of those chains except for a cheese butty in Café Rouge ten years ago. You see people actually queueing up for ages outside though, so I do wonder what the attraction is?

It's a simple business model really - different style cuisine from another continent.

Getting on towards 200 UK outlets now, Wagamama is both altruistic and ahead of its time.

Hey moron, I have tried it so my experience was just pile of noodles on a plate with chicken. It reminded me of Pot Noodles.

I have been to Japan for work (read my earlier posts and thread) I have eaten authentic Japanese cuisines which knock Wagamama out of the ball park. I have no idea why people enjoy Wagamama it seems to be hispters, nerds and students who enjoy it.

I refuse Cafe Rouge ever since they added an expensive service charges on my bill.

Their meals are ready prepared and cooked as is, like most chains.
They cant make variations unfortunately.

Which rare spices do they use, Barney?

They don't use rare spices Honey. If they did their prices will be much higher.
