I am still amazed he made it passed 60 to be honest with you JK.
If I Could Only Remember My Name was one of the first Americana albums I bought when I was a youth. In my opinion Stephen Stills is the most talented one from CSN(Y). David Crosby didn't do much song writing.
Los Angeles in the 60s had a fantastic music scene. I remember meeting Harry Nilssen in Davy Jones' house before he'd recorded anything but demos. And Danny Hutton (went on to be 3 Dog Night).

Please please do not tell me anything that isn't nice about Davy Jones. I couldn't bear it.

That is cool. I have only heard positive things about Danny Hutton. (My friends in America used to travel to see Three Dog Night across nation) Danny Hutton still tours and has formed a new touring band with veteran touring member Paul Kingery. I wish they came to the UK for a one off tour.
For me the underrated 60's band is Manfred Mann people only listen to the hits not the deep cut blues songs or b-sides.
Was Davy in the closest JK? I was told by a promoter that Davy was an enigma he could get angry on the smallest thing. However when Davy was in a good mood he was fun to be with I was told by the same man.
I saw Peter Tork live at intimate gig in Long Island. Which was great entertainment and he certainly had an unique voice.
