Bournemouth Weatherspoons 2 Years, 5 Months ago
I was sent this article by a friend. That it is for sale and would I be interested.

www.dorset.live/news/dorset-news/bournem...#amp-readmore-target

The electricity bill for a pub that size would be roughly 45k every quarterly. Then there's staff to pay and water. The demographic in Bournemouth is mostly students they have dozens of clubs and bars to go to. The alkies buy booze from shops and loiter.

Pubs will be obsolete in the next 10 years or so. People will meet in the Metaverse without getting out of bed. Causing a pandemic of depression and suicides.

Robots can do almost every menial jobs and robotic bar staff was shown me to in Tokyo almost 20 years ago. I laughed when I saw it but I was warned it will catch on.

Unfortunately they have in posh establishments.

Not just the posh ones. We have got a "stuff yourself from the buffet" place in Liverpool which is cheap and cheerful and they have them there.

For those of us who are introverted, reclusive and sick right up to the eyeballs of other people and their dramas, it is very welcome indeed.

JK should find a restaurant owner and set up Solo's then after a year Jonathan can sell his share.

No - they'll just be bigger and different.

Like this Wetherspoons opening next month.

High Street and village pubs are closing all the time Barney. I was in the trade for years and were my contacts.

Bournemouth has lost it's charm and magic sadly. It's only the theatre's and beach that's keeping it on life support. It's tragic that all the quaint shops have closed down. A lot of hotels will now be flats to house boat people that come over. Christchurch (in Dorset) has the beautiful Regent cinema/theatre which keeps the town going.

It's used by Talking Pictures a lot. Whoever is in charge of the Regent have spent thousands of pounds updating it.

Indeed Hedda so do I.
Always associate Bournemouth on here with Martin Kitcher (Mart), sadly passed now for nearly eight years.

Dear Mart. I finally got to meet him in person (he came to one of my movie screenings). A delightful human being and an early supporter when they were few and far between.

I have fond memories of Bournemouth. Growing up along the coast in Hampshire we headed there a lot as youths, down to the beach in the summer, later bars & clubs. Fell in early love there too!

I think Mart may have been before my time on here...

The clubs and bars are still there but a lot of them have closed. I couldn't enter then because I would feel too old. Most of them are catered for student's at the local university.

I was tempted to enter the Halo with a group of friends the nightclub which was a former church. This was before Christmas.

We saw a lot people in their late teens and early 20s. We would of have looked ridiculous going in and boogie. Ageing is life's practical joke.

I do enjoy a few ales with my partner in a pub, it's nice to go out with an another ale drinker who is also the opposite sex.

However sometimes it would be nice to find a club where we don't feel old. Pubs can be tedious.

Are you trying to hint Wyot, you have hundreds of little Wyots around Dorset who are now in their 30's?
