Regulars will know my thoughts - it was always an unimportant, trivial trade issue that should NEVER have had a referendum, since voters (most) had no idea or interest in it. In or Out - who cares? Norway, Switzerland, others do OK. But the madness was that media hyped it ("a good story"), everyone started having a decision (with little or no information).
My feeling was - it was the CHANGE that was crazy. Why bother? Improve it if needs be but don't embark on the insanity of change.
PLUS - it became a haven for closet racists.
And it was insulting to other members of the EU. Rude.
It happened. Again, I could not see how, considering Northern Ireland is a part of the UK (and voted Remain, as did Scotland).
But now it's done, the Windsor Framework seems an intelligent way to move forward and get over the stupid thing.
If the DUP object, have a referendum in Northern Ireland. Yes or No? We all know the result.
If the ERG object, who cares?
