Sensational 2 Years, 3 Months ago
100 000 of Matt Hancock's lockdown messages leaked to Telegraph who are staggering release.

Already, it is clear that he and the Gov were not following "the science:; they made it up as they went along, politics was their concern (being seen to be doing something), not health:

Far too soon to know exactly what happened - but the truth will out...

It is not too early at all Barney.

There was no convincing science behind the masks before Covid and the latest research reveals that masks positively made no difference. There was no evidence lockdowns would save a life and plenty of comparative international evidence now that they made no difference, while exacting enormous harm on the supine peoples they were inflicted upon.

None of this should open the door to the loony conspiracies; it just reveals to the intelligent the real agenda: political posturing and survival in the face of 24-7 media inflation.

If you provide any persuasive evidence that our Government followed "the science" (this is not the same as following a scientist paid to advise them, just to help you..) that determined we needed to lockdown, wear cloth nappies, stop children attending school and cancel cancer consultations, then I will agree that we may still be awaiting "the truth".

But in my experience, you will either strawman me, or post a link to an article that isn't relevant.

I hope to be surprised.

It looks a bit staged to me, but I suppose we shall see.

The Downing Street communications advisor (the media man) advises Johnson that to not force school kids to wear masks would make English parents angry because Scotland had introduced them.

Chris Whitty (the scientist) says there is no Science to support this mandate. He further said it was "not worth the argument".

The Government introduces the mandate. It follows the media man.

If our Government was prepared to violate the fundamental freedoms of children and risk damaging their mental health in the process, what else were they prepared to do for their careers?

Lockdown a country?

The truth will be somewhere in the middle, I expect. It usually is.
I would be surprised if chunks of messages haven't been left out to paint the villain of the moment as even worse than he is.

So when they knew that isolating for 14 days wasn't required they kept it in place regardless because they didn't wish to look like they were "wrong".

How much harm to busineses, the economy and mental & physical health did this needlessly cause?

I don't care if they are editing to make Hancock look like more of a tosser than he is. Course they are.

I care about (uneditable) stuff like this because it shines a piercing light on what was behind the catastrophic restrictions. The attitude, considerations and priorities.

To be fair though, Boris was very quick to get a vaccination process in place - which saved a lot of people's lives.

To be fair though, even if we accept this was down to Boris, this in no way mitigates the thousands dead and still dying because of disproportionate responses to Covid. As usual, it has nothing to do with the point I made, either through design or stupidity on your part.
