Funnily enough I think there's a brilliant film to be made about SJS - what a fascinating life. A shrewd man, far ahead of his time, able to manipulate the media brilliantly in a way that benefitted millions. I was no fan (he was NOT a music fan) but when I met him socially (once) I thought him almost a Saint. After seeing him being a real person (about 20 minutes - and I feel privileged as few ever saw the real Jim) I'm absolutely certain he never crossed the line sexually (and remember that line has been redrawn in the past 30 years). I actually watched him cross the moral line once - very effectively - in a (then) quite shocking way which achieved the goal (of cheering up a dying woman). Nurses and Doctors hated him - they preferred the platitudes that avoided any real benefit but made them appear caring (they weren't - sympathy fatigue).

A film done well and honestly would be brilliant. Funnily enough I think Coogan, from his previous work, would be the perfect person to do it, if correctly informed. And it could help destroy the False Allegations Industry. But nobody would dare write a true script or show a true show.

Would love this to happen. I'm always open to discuss this as I have many times with lots of producers who have many ideas but I choose very carefully.

Missing the greatest of stories is the thing the previous pretenders will regret. I'm glad.

Happy to be patient. It may not involve us, but we're the ones to start with IMHO.

When it starts Amanda tell them to contact me. I only have that one experience but it was a real eye opener, especially the 20 minutes and cups of tea afterwards in his tiny little Stoke Mandeville flat. And my brother will testify too.

Little while ago I spoke to 2 former nurses who worked at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. They said liked giving prolonged hugs and could be very hyper and irritating.

They said he never groped them, cornered them or put his hands up their dresses and so on. They never saw him grope anyone either.

met him once in Broadcasting House when he came downstairs (generously) to collect a disc I was delivering.

He was most polite and I thought at the time "you don't even look that outrageous and it's all a (bloody good) act".
