It seems that the decent police officers in the forces have become aware that this is NOT a "vanishingly rare" crime but the exploding area of crime this century which I experienced in 2000 (and predicted then the avalanche that has taken place).
AMAZING evidence described by the judge show incredible cunning only matched by incredible stupidity.

Anyone watching Judge Altham's excellent summing up when delivering sentence must be amazed that this kind of thing can be taken seriously. But those of us aware of the incredible (media promoted) madness - from Jimmy Savile to Virgina Giuffre, from Harvey Weinstein to Bill Cosby, from Cliff Richard to Paul Gambaccini must now assure everyone else - the vast majority of sex abuse claims are false, ranging from exaggeration (it was consensual; they were a year or two older; what happened was far less etc etc) to total invention (as in this Williams case and others).

PLEASE - media people; cover this incredible GREAT STORY at length; examine the "enablers" who assisted Williams (from police to lawyers) - some of whom may have genuinely believed her.And start exposing the other areas of corruption in the police and legal systems. Do not diminish the lesser examples of this appalling crime. There are decent, honest people in prison with ruined lives who happen not to be famous or wealthy. This is a global problem.

Both the police (and CPS) and Legal System come out of this very well. Just as Williams, Beech, Beale and hundreds of others (including those in my cases) got exposed, revealed and jailed. But the majority get away with it. These loonies are just the tip of the False Allegations Industry.

And the worst are those dreadful miscarriages of justice whose victims are still now in jail, or are dead, or are living ruined lives (many of whom I've met at conventions).

We HAVE to do something about this insanity. Only the media can do it. Crooks are getting away with MILLIONS in compensation, law suits, settlements...

We need to thank Judge Robert Altham for illustrating the horror of False Allegations. There ARE decent Judges around. There ARE decent police officers, social workers, media and legal...

8.5 years seems fairer that the 18 years for Carl Beech who did far less and caused far less damage.
She'll be out in 4 years but the sentence must surely stop some future crimes.

I'm often unimpressed by Toby Young, but he seems to be the only person on TV talking common sense about this issue.
Others hide behind a cloud of lies, damn lies and statistics.
