People will answer - for food is fine; for entertainment NOT.
Why not?
Genuinely confused.
I think it is ultimately a moral judgment on those who would find a lion being shot (at no danger to the shooter) as entertainment. But no, one would struggle to define an objective logical difference between killing for food or other reasons. Or killing a fox but not a carrot. Differing degrees of sentience and awareness? Well careful with that one - as it can be supplied to people...
It's one of the most ridiculous things Wyot. It's for rich people with no skill or instincts. Anyone can shoot fish in a barrel.
The lions are usually in pens a few acres wide or drugged up.
I like hunting because, I hate all the additional preservatives and salt in supermarket meat. However I do like the venison range in Waitrose.
I like squirrel meat and it's now becoming a mainstream meat.
Surrey is wasted on Wyot, no doubt The Leadbetter's from The Good Life is based on him. Are you from Surbiton?

Don't knock The Good Life. I was one of the few in love with BOTH Felicity and Penelope!
I have met Felicity at a private function she is both beautiful and charming.
The creators of The Good Life did do their homework on self-sufficiency.
I think they mentioned this book in an episode also. Which I have of course.
