ET 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Just watched this again for the first time in decades.
My God what a great film it was.
And how incredible was John Williams' score?

Each to their own JK.

I found the film nauseating. John Williams soundtracks are flawless though.

There was a slight debate if I remember back in the day of which was better ET or Flight Of The Navigator? I didn't like either film however both films have good scores though.

Watched it last year and it was the first time my 9 and 6 year olds had seen it. They loved it but (unlike their father) had dry eyes throughout: what is wrong with children these days...

I would think it impossible not to cry at the scenes of the bikes flying across the moon - up there with Van Gogh as great art. And how could anybody fail to burst into tears with John Williams incredible score?

I do remember seeing Field of Dreams in the cinema. All the sobbing came from the men. I did have tears also and it's also Kevin Costner last good film.

Yes the score by Williams for ET is sublime and mixed with the visuals is great art and entertainment.

There are at least then 3 men on this site who also get weepy at Field Of Dreams then...

I do remember seeing a woman getting teary eyed but the men had tears streaming even me.

When I saw Midnight Cowboy in a seedy cinema, I didn't know anything about the film or book. The film is dark, bleak and depressing. I was hoping they would go to a warm climate and find a steady job.

Well, I was trying to remember if I had seen it or not.
Some farmer hallucinates a baseball player and chops down his crops to build a stadium or something? I cant remember anything else. Maybe I fell asleep?

Some films cut to the heart of what it means to be a man Honey, others, to a woman. Thankfully, I haven't, voluntarily anyway, yet sat through a "non binary" tear-jerker.....

I was sobbing as well at the end of MC. Thankfully, I was at home with a cup of tea rather than in a "seedy cinema" like GM with goodness knows who!!!!

It was for bums, down and outs, gays and addicts. The 80s NYC was very seedy. However in late 80s and mid 90s. It was sorted out a great deal, the XXX theatres were becoming a thing of the past. Bums were giving money and a ticket to leave NYC if they wanted to leave.

I lost count how many hookers wanted my money and not my God giving body.

If Wyot was with me they would give him in the money.
