Further to a thread that WYOT and GM seem to have obsessed with, YES, these days we are almost all "mutts". I'm half British/half American and both sets of ancestors include Irish, Italian and many other races. I myself consider myself part Arabic and part Jewish. This is just another reason why racism and isolationism are so absurd. These days, humanity is a mixture of many races, skin colours, religions and sexual preferences. Even the two genders are becoming confusing and contain three genders, if not more.

We must adapt. Humanity will disappear unless we open our minds and change our attitudes and bigotry.

I suspect it's a lost cause and by the end of this century humanity will have become extinct on this planet.

The human psychology of even the most liberal of us is inevitably tribal. It is hard wired through evolution to keep us alive. The smart thing, then, is to widen the tribe.

This is why our current nationalist anti EU policies are not only stupid economically; and why returning to the EU (which commenced in response to nationalist wars, of course) is so important.

It is not just about whether we can "go it alone". Going it alone reduces us psychologically.
