Re:RIP Rolf Harris 2 Years ago
William Merritt, the investigator, has published an excellent book which lays bare the extraordinary behaviour of the police, the media and the system as well as the vile false accusers. I don't condemn many false accusers, some of whom suffer from delusions - often provoked by addiction to alcohol and/or drugs - and others who simply get persuaded to lie (or exaggerate) in return for huge sums of cash. But Rolf's lot seemed to me to be motivated entirely by greed, as were the majority of my false accusers and, I suspect, those prepared to lie about Prince Andrew, Michael Jackson and others. When, oh when, will media and society wake up to the growth crime industry of this Century? Sadly not until others have died, I fear.

Well said. It really is a very well written and eye-opening book. I have e-mailed again the various news addresses that I contacted about the book when it came out to remind them of it but don't have much hope that any attention will be paid. It's hard to know which e-mail addresses are the right ones to target. I wondered if Spiked or Private Eye might be interested, but there was silence from them the first time, as from everyone else. Mike Graham of TalkTV was supposed to be interviewing William Merritt about the book, but the interview was apparently cancelled at the last minute and as far as I know was never rescheduled. I noticed him interviewed by Anne Diamond on GBNews but the interview had nothing to do with Rolf Harris or the book.

I have no idea of his relative guilt or innocence in these matters beyond a jury being persuaded. And I don't care either. He was also an artist and performer. As a child I had quite a talent for art (sadly not in his league!) and I will remember him for the art TV shows I loved. People are more than one thing. He should be shown respect for his many achievements and kindness in death. RIP.

Well said. Our broken justice system is broken beyond belief. The French have no system of compensation, and know there are many who'lie just to get it. We should abolish it in this country too, replacing it with therapy if needed, and money only being given out if injury caused...and even then where the money is going should still be monitored. If liars found out, then all compo must be returned. At present liars get to keep it all due to complicated system. Yes, even Wendy Wild/Rosher kept hers, and all monies made from endless interviews with TV/Papers. Not long before she died, she posted a photo of the family's extension in their Spanish villa.

And now watch the False Accusers try to grab every penny of Rolf's estate, making sure his ailing wife cannot afford care and his daughter keeps nothing (hopefully he switched it all into a trust before croaking). And you can bet it'll be those (many) corrupt law firms demanding money with menaces. "If you don't settle we'll go to civil court and even if you win you'll lose a fortune". URGH!!!

I can't get over how many people commenting on social media seem to think that RH abused little children. It's clear that they know nothing about the case - they've just seen the 'paedophile RH' headlines and have jumped to their own conclusions. The media have a lot to answer for in relation to their use of the word 'paedophile'in this instance.

It's sad that so many were blinded into believing this debacle.
Big respect to people like James Masterton, Chris Barratt and RabbitAway for sniffing out the bullshit
and forementioned author.

I heard James Masterton lost his job at musicweek for his anti-yewtree views, i don't know how true this is
because someone on Buzzjack said it and they're completely blinded into believing the whole yewtree thing.

After all the stuff about the MET police came out i do think it won't be long before the work of MWT and
"Yewtree" is looked into.

As referred to on here regarding the Rolf Harris case there is enough evidence for it to be looked into.

In his day he was a great entertainer.

Karen Gardner is being described in the Mail as a victim.

Doesn't the fact that TWO juries failed to find Rolf Harris guilty of assaulting her mean anything?

I see the blind woman who accused RH of assaulting her has gone public.

Oh, my days! In one of the photos in today's Mail she is holding up a book that she wrote called "God's Rich Pattern". I've just Googled it and found this:

books.google.co.uk/books?id=k2GpAwAAQBAJ...0pattern&f=false

One extremely memorable broadcast was with Rolf Harris - two hours of great fun with Rolf in the studio talking about his life and work, and getting me to play the didgeridoo and wobble board!

Doesn't the Bible say something about bearing false witness?

It seems not. I gather from the reviews of the recent ITV documentary that she was also portrayed in it as a victim.

The BBC has been doing something similar. I saw an ABC (Australia) journalist interviewed on BBC news yesterday evening by Lewis Vaughan Jones. Her name was Barbara Miller, and she apparently covered the 2014 trial in depth. Lewis Vaughan Jones said he had also been in court occasionally to report on the case. She gave a run-down of the case and mentioned in passing that one of the counts had been overturned on appeal because a witness had been unreliable (I thought there was more to it than that) and then finished her spiel by saying that one of the victims had said she was 7 or 8 at the time. Needless to say, Lewis Vaughan Jones didn't say anything to counter or clarify this. It seems that even for the BBC the facts can't be allowed to get in the way of a good story. I thought that their article about his death was very scrappy, even including poor grammar ("who he had married") and with a headline worthy of a tabloid (Rolf Harris: Serial abuser and ex-entertainer dies aged 93). No obituary on their site either as far as I can see.

Unbelievable. What a foul thing to do. Great find, Sheba!

It certainly does. Stunningly moronic. The articles seem to be written by badly-educated twenty-somethings who rely on a thesaurus for different words suggesting 'evil'. There are bizarre details such as his 'brazen' decision to walk his dog every now and then. The book is dismissed as 'smearing his victims,' while anyone pictured as Harris received a copy are damned as 'shameless'. Of course, to some extent, there have been journalists like this since the 18th century, but at least they used to have a degree of style about their diatribes. These articles read like kids in a schoolyard competing to sound more hateful than the others, whilst claiming to occupy the moral high ground. It's truly sickening.

Well said! I bet these journalists haven't even read the book, but at least The Sun has given it some publicity. Nice photo with everyone looking pleased.

Re:RIP Rolf Harris 2 Years ago
from Musicweek

"Showing it’s not just the good and the great whose deaths boost consumption, Rolf Harris, whose death was announced on Monday, saw a 212.20% increase in consumption of Two Little Boys – No.1 for six weeks as the 1960s turned into the 1970s – week-on-week from 41 to an admittedly still small 128 units. His most popular album last week, The Ideal, saw a 333.33% uplift from six to 26 sales. The last time either of them recorded higher sales was in week 27 of 2014, which is the week following his sentencing and imprisonment on 12 charges of indecent assault. Even bad publicity sells, it seems."

Have just been re-reading this excellent blog post about the Rolf Harris case by the late Simon Warr, a teacher falsely accused by two men, tried and acquitted. He wrote an excellent book, Presumed Guilty, about his experience. He died of cancer three years ago at the age of 65.

Lies and Damned Lies on Oath

Seems the public are flocking to eBay in scores to snap up Rolf Harris keepsakes. A collection of 6 of his CDs (and 1 dvd) with an autograph is currently at £80. Autographed doodles are also selling for about £100.

Moreover, be interesting to see what happens with the reported £10 million plus estate. If he was smart (and I'm assuming he was) he'd have sort legal advice on putting it in a safe trust or transfering property & assets to family
