Absolutely right, JK, except it isn't my fault, and I doubt it's yours either.
A client reacted with disbelief when I mispronounced his home town, Rothley. "It's where little Maddie comes from!"
"Oh, right", I replied, feeling like an ignoramus, but at least it proved my lack of appetite for media circuses.
The intellectually challenged masses only like what they know-I, rather pompously, like to think I know what I like-and it is high time those with responsibility (the Press, for example) start to ensure the people know something different and more worthwhile.
PS To any grammatical purists out there, I know I inappropriately used hyphens in the last paragraph, but can't for the life of me find a dash on my keyboard!
