Re:AI - Artificial Intelligence 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Perhaps AI far from proving our doom will prove humanity's saviour.
As we roll out Universal Income we can all sit drooling looking at screens all day while the benign robots take things over.
Putin & Zelensky & NATO expansionists will all be zapped and nuclear warheads dismantled and sunk in the oceans.
The robots will shake their heads in disbelief while clearing up this mess, pat us on the head and point us to a range of light entertainments we can spend our end days on. Now infertile but content the robots allow us to see our our days in a virtual zoo until the last ape's death rattle...
Most of us will first encounter a robot when on the phone to a call centre, as the work there (including the questions and answers) is ideal for AI.
The robot can easily give insurance quotes, provide flight information and accept prescription requests. Later their work will progress to surgery.
Robot technology is already available. Already I can park my car automatically, with hands off the wheel. Sensors and the car system guide the vehicle to a space.

Wait until it progresses and AI will turn to against us. It won't be The Terminator but it will be close.

It is only "ideal" if you are a standard person with standard needs who never requires anything out of the ordinary or wishes to make a suggestion.
Soulless crap for soulless people, in my opinion.
