As the inquiry proceeds it seems that it is not concerned with fundamental questions, but only how the Government responded against pre conceived notions that lockdowns and masks can reduce deaths.

Not whether it was in the national interest and proportionate to lockdown. Yes, it is looking at carehomes where the Government was dreadfully negligent. But addressing no questions of importance or use for the future, so far as I can determine.

Unless anyone is stupid enough to think uncovering that the Government didn't plan or put in place contingencies for a pandemic is useful. Oh yes so what can we do for the future? Stipulate that Governments must plan for pandemics, which we already had done. Brilliant.

Well spotted WYOT - this incredible stupidity seems to have infected everyone. If I believed in Satan (which I don't) I'd really think this was his Ultimate Weapon of Mass Destruction for humanity. Allowing media to simplify everything (for a better story), exaggerate everything (for a better story) and let Governments react to the inflated reports, causing them (and most punters) to ignore real problems and waste time, money and energy on fake dramas. Can't anybody else see this? Aren't there any Editors of Newspapers or TV/Radio/Online people able to see the truth and expose the invention? I can only assume they all know that all that matters is a great story. DOH!
