To get back against the Government/Media hype about stupid Covid (I'm pro-vax but VERY pro-right to choose) which cancelled him last year for his principled stand. Sports (and music) should not bow to politics or media pressure. Delighted Russian players are back (as Eurovision should have been). Just like innocent musicians suffering from media/political censorship (for example Top of the Pops). And films/TV/radio bowing to media coverage (Gambo; Cliff; Spacey). Ditto politics. The presumption of innocence is dead. Why? It's a better story.
