The trouble is they are against something everyone is reliant on to some degree.
It is not like they wish to gain something, such as a vote. Or stop something a wealthy elite rely on, such as slavery.

No, this is a real problem (don't believe conspiracy loons) but the only solution will come with providing affordable alternatives. By not making people worse off and allowing the profiteers to profit in another way...

Yes there is no problem with cleaning up terrible mistakes (like plastics in the sea). But concentration should be 99% on how we cope with the changing world (predominantly affected by things beyond human control) whereas, simplistically, these stupid people are 99% concerned with the trivial 1%.
