TOPIC: The latest BBC "pervert"

The latest BBC "pervert" 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Another stupid Media hype - as far as I can see, nobody has done anything illegal. Of course, these days everything is immoral. Kiss someone on the cheek and you go to jail for rape. A mild grope in a car can lead to the driver "pulling over" - shock! Horror! Drama! Compen - Say - Shun!

I don't understand why people want to go on the pull these days?

Hard to see where the moral policing will end isn't it? There is something puritan and religious about it. Will we at some stage "advance" to stoning (for this read total online and career oblivion) adulterers?

Actually the nuclear family is a tool of heterosexual oppression these days isn't it so won't be that....

Someone else fill in the blank?

I'd say it was immoral, if not illegal. But there are elements of the story that seem suspicious to me: the accuser being a crack addict and the family apparently not responding to the BBC when it contacted them.

… The mother told the paper that the anonymous individual, now aged 20, had used the money from the presenter to fund a crack cocaine habit…. A BBC spokesperson said: … "If we get no reply to our attempts or receive no further contact that can limit our ability to progress things but it does not mean our enquiries stop. …

The Mail hasn't named the presenter, but seems to drop a hint with a photo of someone in shadow but bearing a resemblance to a particular presenter captioned "The presenter at the heart of the investigation has reportedly been taken off air".

Soon, the facts will be clear. But a lot of 'household names' are very quickly distancing themselves from the story. And will be saying, shortly, that I'd no idea about his private life - with the BBC echoing. Sunday papers nighshifts are busy tonight with many hacks on bonuses!

Pretty soon Jo we will learn that no one in show-biz knows anyone else in show-biz...

Drug addicts are automatically vulnerable to exploitation, but they are considered of sound mind and able to spend their money how they wish, so I am not sure what we are looking at here?

Some bloke pays a prostitute who is of legal age to do prostitute things?
So?

Undoubtedly the alleged protagonist is currently meeting with lawyers and other advisers. All options - defences/rebutals/explanations/denials are being prepared and considered. And his family are now involved/informed - a difficult time for so many. Including the alleged victim(s).

There are brothels on every high street, full of girls who feel forced by circumstance to perform acts on repulsive creeps.

Where is the outrage, and what is the difference?

As usual media (including the BBC) seems to be getting it wrong. "These are very, very serious allegations" says every expert. No they are not. On the surface they are simply a way of behaving that millions also do. We may consider it immoral or wrong but it does not appear to be illegal. If it is, there will be millions of new cases occupying courts for the next few centuries as willing participants see not only publicity and sympathy but loads of compensation for the damage caused. Is a 17 year old a "child"? Not according to the Children and Young Persons Act, never repealed. 16 is the Age of Consent. 14 is the age of a child becoming a "Young Person". And if it is decided that this is NOT illegal, the actions of the mother and the Sun may well be and should be pursued. Legally. The crime of Blackmail this century includes threats of Media or Legal action unless money is paid.

It seems that for this purpose, making indecent of a child is illegal, but it includes under 18.

If the presenter had gone round to his house and had sex with him, all would be well.

If what is being reported did in fact happen, it seems that the BBC presenter has broken the law. So it seems odd if the family is complaining to the BBC and not to the police and if the BBC has not referred the matter to the police.
… Under the Protection of Children Act 1978, it is an offence to 'make, distribute, possess or show any indecent images of anyone aged under 18' - even if it was created with the young person's consent.

It is also a criminal offence to ask a child under 18 to send a sexual image of themselves - and causing or inciting sexual exploitation of a child carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.

Making or possessing indecent images carries a maximum sentence of 10 years. …

Nazir Afzal, who prosecuted the Rochdale grooming gang, told the Times last night he was 'surprised that this person was not suspended once [the BBC] became aware of the gravity of the allegation.'

He continued: 'The police should have been engaged as soon as they worked out whether the complaint was genuine.

'Where are we now - the middle of July? Six, seven weeks on. They should have advised the police that this is a matter that they should be investigating, and that should have been done weeks ago.

'There's no justification for the police not having become involved as early as possible.' ...

MSM needs to go BBC were digging their claws in to ITV about Schofield. Now the tables have turned.

We get it that Show-Biz is full of sleaze, blackmail and backstabbing and always has been. You might get a few good years on the box then discarded to do the theatres. I think Bobby Davro is doing the hotel circuits.

If the media do name and shame the presenter. I probably wouldn't have a clue who it was. I haven't proper TV in years.

I get my joys sitting on tree stumps or on a shooting stick, in the woods watching nature with binoculars, or eating a bespoke club sandwich.

In the pub now, a few customers are making bets and taking bets. A few BBC newsreaders have come up. I don't have a clue who they are.

If the presenter is married with lots of children etc, then it's his family who will suffer. Schofield is like an old Hollywood actor who got married to hide his homosexuality and he has an ego but as the same personality as a twig.

Tab Hunter, had flings with actress whilst being a flaming homo. To be honest he was a good looking and a ridiculous handsome bastard...even in his last few years of his life. Tab knew the camera loved him.

All will inevitably turn out to be bollocks of course. This smells of an extortion attempt gone off the rails. Meanwhile the BBC are doing no "protecting" but instead following proper due process.

Those would would routinely sneer at The Sun as a garbage rag are today cheerfully treating something it printed as the gospel truth.

And so the world doth turn.
