Yes the Goverment reviewed this year a proposal to re-sentence all remaining IPP prisoners outside of the illegal IPP sentence, which would have seen them all released time served.

This was rejected by the Gov and those remaining still have to be released through the parole process.

As the parole remit is not concerned with righting historic wrongs but only judging current perceived risk to the public, many will be staying in prison a long time more.
