This really does sum up the CCRC. With the best intentions they are simply unable to cope with the mountain of appeal requests - I reckon about 20% deserving of quashing convictions and another 60% far inflated and exaggerated (in order to get conviction and media attention), deserving a lesser sentence, if one at all.
Instead they concentrate on easy, long dead, stupid cases like these or else easy (to bump up the results) follow ons like the appalling Post Office ones.
Then they can say Look we're referred 2% instead of Sorry we've let down 98% of our applicants.
