Barbie vs Oppenheimer - the decision is in! 1 Year, 10 Months ago
I've now seen Barbie - it's far, far better than Oppenheimer. Unexpectedly. I couldn't see any reason to watch Barbie but it's done so well at the Box Office I felt I should go; so I just did, and really liked it. It's VERY good whereas Oppenheimer was just pretty good. And it's a decent length (Opp is an hour too long). Barbie is also more intelligent, better written and has excellent music (Mark Ronson).

Personally, I saw it as a big piece of Feminist propaganda, giving the impression that Women can't reach top positions in the world because of the patriarchy. There was a scene showing the board of Mattel being all middle-aged white men, when in fact 4 out of 10 are female. It also pushed the idea that men are only concerned with their egos, when this is only about 20% of men, whereas the rest just want to get on with living their lives.
On the positive side, the set design was amazing and the acting was of a high standard. I didn't find it very funny, but then I don't find much funny these days.

I go to the cinema nearly every week with a female friend and have one of those limitless tickets, so I often get dragged to a lot of crap films like Marvel and Mission Impossible. This is why I watched Barbie, it isn't something I would choose to watch at home. The audience was 90% female. However, since Barbie and Oppenheimer came out the cinema has been packed out for several weeks, usually there are only about 12 people in the theatre, so this is all good for the future of cinema.

I know that feeling Robbie.
If memory serves me right, I saw Young Sherlock Holmes. The girl I was dating had a thing for Julian Lennon. She thought Nicholas Rowe was hot.
I was bored. However I made her watch Biggles Adventures In Time. The movie is still quilty pleasure of mine.
