Should Letby attend court? WHY? 1 Year, 10 Months ago
The only reason is the malicious satisfaction gained by those who - like Christians and lions - like watching pain, agony, misery. And nobody commentating has mentioned an appeal. Really; humanity is ceasing to be human.

Yes and how do they even propose achieving this? It is very difficult to man handle someone into a dock and then how are they likely to behave when there? Add time to the sentence? For a lifer who won't even have a chance of a parole hearing for 15 years?!

Why do these bloody politicians keep pretending they can "fix" these things?

Get on with the important issues that you can influence....

The very point I was about to make WYOT. Im fed up with stupid politicians pandering to stupid people with stupid comments carried by the stupid media. "Several full life sentences? Give her more! So the grieving families can get the satisfaction of doing to a child (of parents) what she did to a child".

DOH! And how dare media imply that the loss of a child through murder is worse than the loss of a child for any other reason. This insanity could end up with women being jailed for life for having a miscarriage.

Didn’t this convicted murderer cause pain agony and misery. Her guilt’s been proven, why is an appeal in order?

We have a lynch mob mentality in this country, even as soon as the allegations are presented. If Lucy Letby did commit these murders, and a previous post casts doubt over this, then she would likely have some sort of mental illness. A life sentence is plenty to be going on with and forcing people to go to the sentencing achieves nothing, except create a media circus.

Her guilt has not been "proven" Michelle. Scientists prove things, jury's come to a decision on a balance of probabilities, after consideration of competing subjective narratives.

The word proven is used to make those involved feel better and appear objectively legitimate; as if they have discovered, through the bang of a gavel, a new chemical element.

When what they are doing is stamping a judgmental, subjective label on the mess that is human life.

To me it shows more arrogance but serial killers only show remorse for themselves.

Like I said before nurses can either cure or kill you when you walk through hospital doors, it's roll of a dice.

I have no idea, obviously, about Letby's guilt beyond a jury being convinced. Now there is a crowd fund appeal set up by a scientist:

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/08/23/lucy...-fundraising-appeal/

This case troubles me.
