Went to see this because I'm a massive Mark Rylance fan - I think he's probably our greatest living actor. And this agrees with that. Well worth seeing. But it's more than that. Almost like a ballet; highly intelligent; really well done with excellent support (including, to my delight, my Andrew McDonald - I say "my" as he's been in several of my films). Terrific choreography; excellent use of music; great script; clever staging. And a packed theatre. With everyone about my age.
Which makes me wonder. Was this because a Thursday matinee is only for us retired people? In August?
With London packed with tourists? Yes there were a few families with younger members but very few.
No I think the younger generation simply would never enjoy something as intelligent and - yes - DEEP.
Second thought. If the Judge and Jurors had seen Dr Semmelweis they would never have convicted Lucy Letby.
