22 Years 1 Year, 9 Months ago
for the Proud Boys leader? Madness. Just another example of superficialisation. His crime - protesting a silly election result - was not murder. But these days crimes have to be inflated, coloured, exaggerated. So the media hypes it up. The public (and indeed protesters) think it's far worse than it is and expect Judges and politicians to do the same.
Marching on a building! Forcing your way in! Yes - they shouldn't do it but come on, who cares? What difference did it make? They didn't blow anything up or set fire to anything or kill anyone.
Two years. Or, if really strict, 2.2 years.
Of course the result will be - half the population will resent this and vote for the ghastly TRUMP because he has the balls to fight the establishment and the hated media.
Supported by people (like me) who hate most of his policies, can't stand the man but hate the way the opposition are trying to destroy him even more.
And, of course, when he gets re-elected he will enact even worse laws and repression because he and his team are bright enough to use the same weapons.
George Orwell would be delighted.
And the animals looked from pigs to men and couldn't tell the difference.

Whole Truth

Re:22 Years 1 Year, 9 Months ago
Violent sedition NOT serious, tell the many victims and grieving families.

Seven people died, including a police officer, either shortly before, during, or following the event: one was shot by Capitol Police, another died of a drug overdose, and three died of natural causes.

Many people were injured, including 138 police officers. Four officers who responded to the attack died by suicide within seven months.

Similar posts stating the same viewpoint have been deleted by our host.

The sycophants are silent though. Do they really agree with the JK view?

I am not sure who is a sycophant on here Jean but guessing that in your view I may be among their number?

I have posted numerous times my views on Trump which differ from our host's, ditto Hedda. I felt no need to do so again.

As to the particular point about the 22 year sentence I agree that on an individual basis it is inhumane. However, have a lot of sympathy for the state coming down hard as a deterant on those who try and subvert our facade of democracy, and risk inciting wide spread civil unrest and bloodshed.

I just hope they come down as hard on the obese, lying, mysoginist, traitorous, language defiling half-wit who used to dirty the office of President and the USA.

We share the same opinion on Trump WYOT but that, for me, is trumped by the behaviour of his opponents.

The ideology section of the much maligned Wikipedia is accurate in this case.

And these thugs (anti-everything) attacked Capitol Hill - the epicentre of America.

Legislature/Congress/History/Status! What next? Liars are ubiquitous though.

Some remember Boris, Nixon and Blair. Proud Boys are sedition supporters, cranks and extreme misfits....

I'm sure. They look like an appalling bunch of inadequates.

But as prisons are full of the lower and middle level drug dealers and rarely the leaders, it is the leader who needs to face justice. And Trump made himself their leader.

There could have been far more bloodshed - and there may be more still. I know they will still exist - whatever they are called such people always have and will - but the precedent of a traitorous US President using them against his country needs dealing with, not just picking the scabs off.

JK - I know you have an equally low opinion of Trump as me as an individual. But I think you ascribe too much intentional manipulation of media/opponents, where I just think he is a thick out of control ego mania who can't help himself.

But Barney's posts are left in place, to upset, annoy and deter other posters?

Some of Barney's stupid posts are carried under one of his stupid pseudonyms because they are not malicious, libellous, incomprehensible, simplt cut'n'paste from Wikipedia or bonkers. Though most are.
