needless to say the Twitter Mob have convicted Russell Brand including a former chief prosecutor (under Kid Starver?) who seems to have forgotten the presumption of innocence. Yes, I think because everything is presented as a simple black or white, people cant grasp the concept of believing both parties are innocent at the same time, until proven.

Having a trawl through some Brand twitter threads today it is very polarised.

Those who believe questioning that he is not Charles Manson means one must be a keen proponent of rape, and those who believe there is a conspiracy to nail Brand because of his views. Both poles seem to me equally silly.

Best thing to do is ditch social media, but I can't quite bring myself to...

Also, the same people who call Prince Andrew a paedophile for having sex with a 16 year old, are saying it is ok for Russel Brand.
It is utterly bonkers.

I think social media is killing people's ability to think or maintain any sense of proportion on any issue. Everyone having a voice is actually a nightmare. I am starting to think it is as bad for mental health as nicotine is for physical health. And poor mental health leads to poor physical health and early death. We need to ween ourselves off of it.
