TOPIC: The Tree

The Tree 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Chopping down the Sycamore Gap tree. Absolutely representative of that tiny streak in humanity which will destroy our species. The perp HAS to be a member of the False Allegations Industry.

The reason I make that seemingly ludicrous connection is because virtually every thinking person goes "Why on earth would they do that?" about the mindless chopping down of the beautiful tree. Which is exactly the response of those who say making false (or exaggerated) allegations is VANISHINGLY RARE. "Why on earth would they lie?". The answer regarding sex lies is often, of course, MONEY. I suspect the answer for the tree chopper is "Making a point" or "Getting celebrity". All similar reasons. Madness.

The only thing we can hope for is that tree takes to binding. Which sometimes does work.

The possible perp is 16. Like the 17 year old who may have stabbed a 15 year old girl. We are failing our children, many of whom grow up to be false accusers.

GM - cannot the main body be re-planted? And surely the stump can grow again.

The stump could grow again and the body of the tree could be replanted in theory.

However can we wait century for that to happen?

The grow again - yes a century but the replant? Near it? Instant, surely? Would it then grow roots?

I do blame the lack of good role models. I remember doing silly things as a kid. However I was scared of the Garda but my friends and I had a rapport.

I do remember one officer would walk his dog in the woods, where we built bases and treehouses. He would help out and let us use his tools.

We even made sure the trails were clean and tidy and not forgetting picking up bent nails, throwing in the swamp; so no dog could walk on them.

I was stopped and searched a few times as a lad even at school. I had nothing to hide there was nothing to fear.

I was always more scared of my parents wrath. Moving to USA as a teen really did mature me and I joined better social circles.

My first American girlfriend is the mother of my daughters and their stepfather is a great guy and very God fearing. I don't get why people never do anything productive.

If Sadistic Khan didn't piss millions away on London vanity projects and ULEZ he could of funded decent youth centre's. Staffed by people with life experience and street wise ex-gangsters. Who could explain that prison is not worth it nor is fighting on the streets.

The youth will listen to people they can relate to not twats in suits. The youth of today are going to be our MPs and PMs.

I know the police are hiring entry level jobs etc, however they need to be more relaxed on the driving licence. People can still patrol the streets and alleys on foot. If an applicant don't have a care drop them off and walk in pairs. Like the old days.

MPs think knifes sold in shops is a bad thing, however they refuse to fact that anything can be a weapon and turned in to one. Prisoners make crude shanks all the time.

Trees are amazing things JK, binding could work its when bolts are used and nature takes over. I am not a tree expert. If the tree has shock or trauma then its unlikely.

I have learnt a lot from the Backyard Tradesmen channel.

My friend who knows I love trees once gave me a fascinating book about how trees communicate with each other.

I think I may have read this it was mind-blowing. Trees "warning" one another of danger, being sparing with nutrients in the ground to save other trees etc.

Certainly makes you think completely differently about trees and plants, and for me demolishes the vegan argument...

GM re your comments on society and respect, what troubles me most as someone who can't literally believe in God, is the implications for a Godless (and so ultimately fearless) society. I can't shake (as much as my instincts want me to) the observation that respect and deferencs has gone down the pan along with Christian values...

Yes - I was including Tree Talk in one of my novels. I bought and read the book. Jaw dropping. Absolutely definite and true. Not a shadow of doubt after reading it. It's not just trees (I've been fascinated by starlings and murmuration for years and had a love affair with starlings during lockdown).
