As WYOT has pointed out about Ukraine, WAR is rapidly becoming non-lethal. 5000 Palestinian rockets kill ONE Israeli. Israeli returns kill TWO Palestinians. I suspect more die daily in road accidents.

Warfare has changed in many ways - with conflict being executed by proxy. With a country supplying/financing the fire-power of another.

Then the use of drones - which can do as much damage as an F-35, at a much lower risk and cost. And controllers in off-site security locations.

But in virtually all wars, there's the elephant in the room - nuclear weapons!! Used only twice - but capable of ending any war, very quickly....

As a lot of people tell us war is all about money, with traditional weapons being effectively neutralised, the trade in arms will no longer be profitable. We can only hope that no country is insane enough to go nuclear. Then war will be played out virtually in cyber space. Where there is lots of money.
