What a bullshit story and PR spin.

Diesel is a very slow burning fuel and takes ages to light a bonfire with it.

Overheated batteries combust very quickly and if there is an electrical fault heating the batteries then it's Goodnight Vienna.

Impossible to tell the cause of the Luton fire - even the investigators don't know. But, undoubtedly, electic cars will come up with new routes to combustion. Important however to ensure that electrics/power and fuel aren't stored and utilised in the same vehicle.
