Margaret Thatcher and Nigel Lawson did incalculable damage to the UK, selling off all the assets at a loss to their mates. Cutting taxes for the rich to nothing. Creating massive unemployment and inflation.

Yet a Labour leader applauds Thatcher's destruction. whatever your politics this is not an Opposition.

Starmer is the most mendacious political entity in the UK.

His support for the murderous destruction of Gaza is sickening.

He is following orders, the PM has no real power, they have their own bosses.

This is the main problem in UK politics and has been for some time. Starmer is mendacious but it is a competitive field in this country; so I can only agree he is shortlisted for the top spot there...

And whatever our differences Hedda with regard to Covid and lockdowns, Starmer provided no opposition here. Just blamed the Government for the effects of lockdowns while in the same breath saying Labour would have done more of it...

not generally one for conspiracies but I agree Green Man that Starmer is an establishment stooge.

Britain deserves a vibrant aggressive Opposition not a Poodle to replace the current extreme Tories with a "business as usual" attitude.

What was the point in lockdowns apart from being a social experiment? We are all going to die anyway. Everyday is a risk taking whether it is driving, using public transport, walking where careless dog owners roam, going to a bank where there could be a hold up, even going for a sleep and the heart stops.
