Thank you. December was a wonderful month in prison. What with Birthday, Christmas and New Year I got so many cards that I was able to wallpaper my entire cell, including ceiling. At one point the Governor visited just to see! Many from celebrities (I even had a letter from then Prince Charles). They stayed up until mid January and were a tourist attraction for visitors from other wings and outside. They were MOST impressed by a huge one from Kylie Minogue (actually not from her - a joke from a friend).

Many Happy Returns Jonno.

HMPs Belmarsh, Elmley, Maidstone were never the same again.

I've never been a big birthday fan, considering them marking one year closer to death, but I have appreciated the many good wishes, sometimes from friends I haven't heard from for years. Used to me more when the Nationals automatically carried my name; for some reason that stopped abruptly in 2001. I wonder why.
