I said it when he was Labour leader - I disagree with many of his policies but he's a decent, honest and honourable man and would probably have been a good PM. He's a first division human being whereas Starmer is third division and Sunak second.
121 MPs to stand down; even the politicians have had enough.
Meanwhile Corbyn stands as an independent, because he is a man of substance, who believes in what he is doing, and wants to make a difference.
How few MPs care about anything other than their careers today.
What uninteresting times we live in, which I predict will be reflected in the lowest voter turn out in history on independence day (what a gift to the SNP!)
Very nicely put JK if I may say so. I'm the same. I disagree strongly on much he stands for but agree he has substance and staying power and I hope he wins his seat again.
The way Starmer has treated Corbyn says it loud and clear about the man Starmer. Had things gone the other way in 2019 he'd now be sitting in a cabinet happily alongsde PM Jeremy Corbyn who he described as his friend. Now Corbyn's worse than an unwelcome turd stuck to the bottom of his shoe that he's finally managed to kick off and get rid of.
What contempt for his constituents who have re-elected him since 1983 to prevent them doing so again. If he was that bad then Starmer has got to seriously answer the question about why he fought to get him elected UK leader in 2019 and stood firmly beside him instead of doing what a number of other labour politicians did and stand aside.
I urge everyone to read the piece by Boris Johnson in today's Daily Mail about the prospect of Starmer in power. Whatever you think of Johnson I think it's spot on, people have got to realise the unpalatable truth about Starmer and snap out of thinking he's the answer to this country's problems before it's too late. He's not. He's an even bigger problem that the Tories have been.
This is the jumping out the frying pan into the fire general election.
Many politicians support policies that they don't agree with. If you vote against party policy, you are likely to lose the whip, which is basically handing in your resignation. James Cleverly describes the Rwanda policy as bat sh*t, but yet we see him defending it on tv, and Richi himself believed to have been strongly against the Rwanda policy, and now it is his flagship policy. All those tories, like Rory Stewart and Ken Clarke who voted against the Brexit policy lost the whip and went on to lose their seats or were forced to give them up.

It's like Brexit we have it in name only, the Tories don't want Brexit to work nor do they want to lose their backhanders.
I'm sure Corbyn will win his seat. In fact I'll be surprised if he doesn't get 95% of the vote. I know people who live there and all say he is a brilliant local MP. But he's also a man of integrity. He had to fight hostile media and opponents using dirty tricks (like the stupid anti-semitism thing which he was quite right to call inflated). People watching GAZA now realise that being pro-Palestinian (though ANTI some of their stupid Hamas acts) is not being anti-semite. If I lived in Islington I'd campaign not just for him to win but for him to get the largest majority ever in the history of elections.

I bet there will be a lot of Independent MPS after the election. Remember if voting changed anything it would be banned. The PM's are puppets and MPs do it for power and for a decent pension pot.
Reform will get millions of votes but will only get gain about 2 seats max.
I am amazed when when I see Lib Dem posters, Ed Davey was part of the Post Office scandal.
