So again taxpayers have to pay for other people's children. Parents need to parent and get them off the socials and devices. The NHS is already tight and short staffed. I never understood why the best clubs at schools were always after home time not during school hours.

People need to admit that fatherless homes is part of the problem.

Something like 40% of residents in care homes in the US, never receive any visitors at all. I imagine the uk statistics are not much better. That is a very depressing and shocking fact and one that looks likely to get worse, as people become more and more isolated and there are more unmarried childless people

When my partner was in hospital for a minor operation she had to stay in for 2 weeks. I did work round work so I could visit every day. It was a 90 min drive each way, but she is worth it. Some days I did more driving to the hospital and back than visiting my partner.

There were 8 lady patients in all. 6 of them never had a visitor from family members. Despite being told by a nurse that their family members live down the road. It boiled my piss.

I did bring in little soft toys from the hospital shop to give to the patients who didn't have visitors.

In Italy, Ireland, Latvia or Japan it's frowned upon not visit families and putting them in to care homes can be a huge no-no.

In the States and UK it's clear that the young don't give a toss about their elders. With their "Ok Boomer" I don't see kids out with their grandparents, I use to love going out with my grandparents as a kid and as youth.

I hate football but I use to take my father to the local clubs to watch the matches together. He knew I hated sport. However, I would do anything to relive those moments.

It does seem that we are forever trying to plaster over social problems; always treatment, never any discussion even of prevention.

That requires work and admitting hard truths. Remember kids will find male role models in gangs.

In the media if kids play up it's always the fat mum's giving in the interviews outside a council house dressed in rags.
