TOPIC: Trump

Trump 1 Year ago
The broken system, as in the UK, has just handed Trump a landslide victory in the November election, in my opinion. So foolish. The man has done so much wrong, has appalling policies and should never again be near the White House yet his opponents, using the weapons provided by the media, have presented voters with a reason to vote for him. Everyone, even Democrats, must be disgusted by this stupid trial and pointless verdict, whatever the sentence is.

And President Trump, supported by overwhelming Congress and Senate majorities, will correct the situation as well as enacting cruel and unfair legislation.

I have no doubt Trump had sex with that horrid woman (why?) just as Clinton had sex with that other horrid intern. I have no doubt he did indeed pay her off and quite possibly did so from the wrong bank account. But like doing 32 MPH in a 30 MPH zone - it didn't warrant the attack, the trial, the verdict, the persecution. Not least because it has alienated every single floating voter into the Trump camp. And means the ghastly man with his rabid right wing policies will certainly be the next US President.

It strikes me the jury were told "If you dislike Trump, vote Guilty". "If you like him, acquit".

Pretty much nailed it JK. The establishment hate outsiders and the little people, however what does not kill you makes you stronger.

If there was a hit job on Trump they know the public will kick off, which will the scare them.

I'm not convinced. It will energise his core base, for sure; but may well alienate as many floating voters as it attracts.

I doubt that the verdict alone will sway people who are undecided to vote for him, rather the opposite I suspect. But he'll no doubt try to capitalise on it and push the "poor me, I'm a victim of the establishment" line and maybe will be able to persuade more suckers that he's just like them and on their side and not a corrupt billionnaire with a contempt for ordinary people who thinks he should be above the law.

Remember Trump was a media darling for decades. Now he is public enemy.

I don't buy into the Trump narrative of a stolen 2020 election, or especially wish him to become President again but Biden is too old and feeble, it's incredible to think he fancies staying in office until January 2029.

That verdict finally convinced me that they really are just setting out to fit him up by any means. If Trump wasn't running for the Presidency again then this trial would never have happened.

It's obvious it will help him win over more support. You don't have to like or agree with Trump to be able to see what they are doing and what they have done is quite seriously wrong.

I expect the judge will go full batshit crazy and jail him on 11th July even if he doesn't immediately get cuffed and off to the jailhouse. They just won't be able to help themselves. Probation, I don't think so.

The really big problem is if Trump loses in November and then gets this conviction quashed on appeal afterwards.

Well, it wouldn't have, as he wouldn't have falsified his business records to cover up the payment to Stormy Daniels in order to conceal this from voters.

His speech from Trump Tower was such a load of incoherent rambling drivel. As if it wasn't already evident, the man is completely unhinged. How can anyone take him seriously, let alone seriously enough as a contender for president? How can the Republican party not be embarrassed? It's baffling that Nikki Haley, for example, isn't their candidate. She seems to be a conservative and sane.

If Trump was a Democrat the media would be on his side.

Here in the UK - at least - the candidates for high office are much better. In terms of common sense, conservative backgrounds and boring headlines.

Biden can barely communicate without devices - and still gets his lines wrong. Trump - a convicted fellon/awaiting sentence - is an eccentric egotist.
