I've always liked Luka Modric - he's constantly pulled off great football. But Italy is one of MY countries (how about the Queens final? I said years ago - watch Italian tennis players). So I'll be rooting for Italy but secretly rooting for Luka.
I am going to a ballet concert tomorrow, with my partner. Football and ballet are both the same, footballers ballet dancers get the same injuries. They both leap, dive and dress like fairies. How can the sights of grown men in runnning around after a ball of air...whilst wearing high socks and PE shorts be taken seriously?
And he's done it again. 5 minutes after missing a penalty, Modric smashes home the first goal in his last tournament (How many times have we said that?)
Absoluting gutting, a last minute goal by Italy looks like putting Croatia out. Jammy bastards. We just have to hope that England beat Slovenia by 3 goals or more and Czech Republic also lose, then Croatia will go through as one of the best 3rd place teams.
Croatia far the better team but delighted that Italy go through though I can't imagine they do much. What a great way for Luka to go out though. He is so fabulous - the oldest ever goal scorer.

I have no idea if people are rooting for certain players or countries they like visiting. I have heard people say they don't want certain clubs to win. E.G. because they had a bad holiday in Turkey or they just hate France.
If that is that case then I want Czech or Slovenia to win. Slovenia is beautiful in the Winter my sister has a second home there. Czech Rep because they have a great metal scene and I have met some of the best people in Prague when I worked there.
