Olympics 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Looking forward to the opening ceremony. I remember last time in this very same hotel room watching on this very same TV as Super Saturday and Greg Rutherford winning gold for the Long Jump. Horrified to discover it was actually 12 years ago!

Best name? Delicious Orie - what an utterly brilliant name. How could we not root for him?

Terrific and varied ceremony/events on and around the Seine - showing Paris at it best, whilst reminding us of French achievements and their famous citizens.

With all c200 teams/nations represented on floating river craft. One has to wonder why - for years - we've had to just watch the participants walk around a track!

The rights to the olympics were sold to dISney Discovery before the Tokyo olympics and they sub-let the rights to the BBC. This is why there are limited events been shown, In London and Rio the BBC Showed all events on player, now you just get no more that two at any time. Very little tennis, or beach volleyball. I'm sure it won't be long before the World cup and Wimbledon go the same way and we have to shell out to watch them.

I was wondering why I could choose from so limited a number of events. Money ruins everything in the end.

Sky own a lot of Freeview channels. I would not be surprised if they bought Wimbledon and show it on a channel like Sky Mix or Challenge TV. It's costly to buy new Freeview new slots but Sky have done it before to show a special event. When the event is over Sky give back the the channel slot.

Discovery could be bid for World Cup games and show it on Quest like they do with the snooker or the pre season friendly. I had SKY TV for the pub it was a headache, when people asked to watch a friendly during the day and trying to find the channel when it was not on Sports section. It would be buried in the EPG.
