Novak vs Carlos Olympics Gold 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Watching this replay of the Wimbledon final. I'm a huge Novak fan and want him to win the one elusive award in his career. And I've said it before - why is he so disliked. He seems not only a brilliant player but a great person (who else would put his life and family ahead of his career, as he did with Covid? And I'm a Vax fan).

I was watching the men's final and after the first set the BBC seems to have taken off the coverage and put a women's shooting final on instead. Since when did anyone care about shooting, even if someone from the UK is in with a chance of gold.

Can anyone explain the BBC decision? Beyond extraordinary. Surely the final set was the global No1 event in the entire Olympics for the majority of viewers? I would say that final set was the one tennis match I wanted to watch most since Andy Murray's first Wimbledon.

I don't agree with the decision to stop coverage of the tennis after set 1 and go to the Shooting, but I wouldn't say that the Olympic Tennis was the no.1 event of the olympics. The Olympics is regarded as much less important than Grand Slams, hence why there are only 3 sets. I was glad that Djokovic finally got his Olympic gold to complete the set, but I don't think Tennis should be in the Olympics, because it is not the premier event in that sport.

Good point Robbie and I really think the tennis final should be 5 sets, like the majors - one of the fabulous things about the great champions is the way they often come back in the fifth; stamina is a key part of great tennis in my opinion (one reason why I don't like women's tennis). Anybody can win the first and often second sets and how many times does one see champs lose both but then win the last three (Novak has done that several times). Would the younger Carlos have done that this time? I suspect so but we'll never know and as a Djokovic fan I'm delighted he now has the full set!
