Two terrific shows on BBC last night - Incredible Hotels lived up to its name and told us more about China than a dozen "news" shows - a little 4 year old girl had "two Daddys" - who knew??? And Who Do... (Jessica Ennis) showed that immigration works and humanity is generally far more liberal, decent and kind than media (NOT a good story) would have us think. 99% of immigrants benefit countries and society. OPEN ALL BORDERS!
I shall watch this. I like anything that bridges the gap between the negative media stereotypes and the reality I mostly see when out in the real world.
Most people are decent at heart, and politeness and kindness much more usual than the opposite.
Considering the crowded, confused world we live in, and the constantly "apocalyptic" media landscape that so many fall for, it is amazing how well most people rub along most of the time.
Two absolutely brilliant shows - oddly not for the reasons for their existence but for the very aspects you and I mention WYOT. China comes out of it very well; clearly full of decent human beings, not the fascists and communists painted. From watching this there may well be TWO DADDYS and TWO MUMMYS in North Korea for all we know.
